Sunday Afternoon

Good Afternoon. We've been kinda busy here getting ready for the move next month. We will still be living in Oklahoma when we move in with my mom, and I will be living in the same town as my friend Nancze also :o)

Josh called yesterday afternoon! He sounded so much better and is doing good. He finally got our letters and photos I sent. It's taking about a week to get mail back and forth. He will graduate 08/08/08. Brad is almost through with AIT and will graduate July 9th. He will most likely be deployed the end of August.

Not much else going on here. Just trying to get stuff done without hurting myself. I went to the doc Monday the 16th and she has me off my feet another 2 weeks. She had to re-do some stitches again. I'm hoping that was the last time! I am able to get some things done with packing though. I have Chad doing stuff in the evenings when he comes home from work. And I have him bring drawers and items downstairs for me to clean out, sort through, and pack. It's getting done, just not at the pace or how I want to do it. I can pack a house in a week :o)

My Hometown

I thought it would be nice to post some photos of my hometown in Oklahoma.
Chickasha's population is a little over 18,000 people. It's starting to grow and change with the times.

This is my hometown during the holidays. It's just beautiful. We have people come from all over the USA to see the Festival of Lights. They started doing this in the mid -late 1990's.

Looking down main street (Chickasha Ave). This is the old part of town. They are trying to redo down town. The town is growing and getting new businesses in another area of the town.

The Washita theater was my summer time hang out. I grew up in a neighborhood further up on main street. After the movies we would go to the Rexall drug store to the soda shop and get the best malts ever....Mmmm. The Rexall closed years ago and is now a book store.

This is the Chief drive in. It is open every summer and has now added miniature golf. It's been around for as long as I remember. Not too many drive ins left.

This is J&W Grill. They have the best fried onion burgers ever! They have been here since I was little.

Well there you go, my little hometown in Oklahoma. The people are really nice here. We're like any town, we have some crime and problems with drugs. But for the most part it's a good place to live.

Josh Didn't Call Yesterday

It really hurt Chad's feelings that Josh didn't call to wish him a Happy Father's Day. I told him may be phone calls were taken away because someone messed up. It didn't help him though. Kassy and Brad called yesterday. Brad even called twice.
I still have yet to receive his letter with his address. I never thought it would take so long to get a letter from him. Maybe today. Since I called and got his addy I have sent 2 letters. I hope they will cheer him up.

Nothing much going on here. I'm going to the dr today for my 6 week check up. In the next couple of weeks we will be busy packing up the house and getting ready to move in with my mom. I have to take care of her full time.

I hope you all have a great week this week!

Josh's Address

Again today no letter with his address. So I called the base and it looks like I'm not the only one who hasn't gotten their soldiers address. I spoke to a really nice gentleman and he gave his address :o) I'm still hoping to get his letter soon. I'm worried about how he is doing. I've got 2 letters with photos and a phone card ready to go in the mail tomorrow. Hope you all have a great weekend!

Still No Address

I'm still waiting on a letter from Josh to get here so I have his address. I was sure it would get here today but no. He called Sunday and was so sad, and I could tell he was homesick. He asked me to send him photos and to send lots of letters. I have 2 letters with photos, pre-stamped envelopes, and a phone card ready to go.
Brad called last night and they had weekend passes but lost them because of 2 guys goofin off. He had a test today. I'm hoping that he passes it. He wasn't much for studying in school so hopefully he studied last night. He should call tonight.

Monday

I hope the days will fly by this week. I can't wait until Thursday & Friday get here.
I'm happy and sad all at the same time. I'm happy to see Brad and to see him graduate from basic training. I'm sad because I miss Josh so much and he's so far from home. I'm hoping to get a letter this week from Josh with his address. I already have a letter ready to send him with a phone card, and I've included some photos too. I just realized that I have to start packing the house soon. Like within the next couple of weeks! I have to get boxes and stuff to wrap stuff up in. I dread packing. I still have to find and buy closets for our room also. I found some online but I forgot where I found them at. I'll have to look for those again. Not much else going on here today. I hope you have a great week!

My Boys Called This Weekend

I love it when I get calls from them! Brad called last night and said his training is complete and is just waiting for graduation next Friday. He will call sometime again today he said. Josh got his first call today. He is not liking reception so much. He will start training next Friday. We should get his address next week too! He said it was hot there, but nothing like Oklahoma :o) We have a lot of humidity. He laughed when I asked him if there were any trees there. He said "mom, I'm in a forest". LOL...Not much else going on here with us. I did put some of Josh's clothes away this morning and cleaned there bathroom. Chad and I will relax and watch the race later today. I had to buy new clothes for Brad's graduation this week. I've lost a lot of weight since having my surgery and thought I could fix my white dressy capris to fit me. Nope, it didn't work like I had wanted. So I went to Target yesterday and was lucky to find the last pair of white dressy capris on the rack and in my size :o) Brad had requested to eat at Chili's when we take him off base. I'm guessing we will take him family day to do that. I can't wait to see him!!
