My Hometown
I thought it would be nice to post some photos of my hometown in Oklahoma.
Chickasha's population is a little over 18,000 people. It's starting to grow and change with the times.
This is my hometown during the holidays. It's just beautiful. We have people come from all over the USA to see the Festival of Lights. They started doing this in the mid -late 1990's.
Looking down main street (Chickasha Ave). This is the old part of town. They are trying to redo down town. The town is growing and getting new businesses in another area of the town.
The Washita theater was my summer time hang out. I grew up in a neighborhood further up on main street. After the movies we would go to the Rexall drug store to the soda shop and get the best malts ever....Mmmm. The Rexall closed years ago and is now a book store.
This is the Chief drive in. It is open every summer and has now added miniature golf. It's been around for as long as I remember. Not too many drive ins left.
This is J&W Grill. They have the best fried onion burgers ever! They have been here since I was little.
Well there you go, my little hometown in Oklahoma. The people are really nice here. We're like any town, we have some crime and problems with drugs. But for the most part it's a good place to live.

How fun was that, La Cresha! Do you live near Nancze at all? I don't know my Oklahoma geography at all!
Thanks for the tour!
Hugs xo
Hi! We used to have Rexall's where I grew up too. Right on the main street. I might have to go around and take some pictures of my town like that sometime. Hope you are having a good week. Are you still going to be in OK when you move to your mom's house? Hugs
What nice photos! I remember going to drive-ins when I was a kid in New Mexico. They don't have any around here in Florida. Have considered moving to OK when I retire. I have a daughter and family as well as several cousins there. Thanks for sharing!
Oh I loved this! LaCresha my daddy owned one of those Rexalls with a soda fountain and all! I worked there many times, was fired many times, lol, and I enjoy so much remembering the small town I grew up in (Savannah, MO) xoxoxo
I love the picture with the lights. That is beautiful
